You should make sure your feline's litter is the clump free variety as there have been cases where clumps are formed on the new kitten when giving birth on their litter.

Then the mother refuses to clean their new born and the little one drowns in their sac. Usually the mother licks clean their child giving them air to breathe. To properly care for a pregnant cat you need to feed them a diet of high protein and calcium which incidentally kitten food meets these criteria. You should make sure your kitty has plenty of privacy and space during this period. Therefore if you have other pets you should keep them away from her.

You should also make sure your kitty has a safe warm bed to go to, so filling the bed with scrap paper is ideal. It is also a good idea to find homes for the new ones beforehand because you will have no time to look because you will be busy looking after all of them. You should make sure your little tiger does not go outdoors during this period of time. They can be very vulnerable and may even have their litter outside.
